Korean Planning Team Visits One-Stop
December 13, 2011... The Ministry of Employment and Labor of Korea sent a
planning team to the United States to learn more about how American workers are
trained, and our government’s philosophy towards maintaining a skilled and
literate workforce.
The Korean Embassy chose the Bergen One-Stop Career Center
as the first site visit, due to its proximity to the New York City and success
as a comprehensive center. The team of officials spent the morning at our
facility on Monday, November 7, 2012.
Joining staff at the One-Stop in welcoming the officials were Robert
Garrison, Esq., Director of Planning & Economic Development and Maggie
Peters, Director of Economic
Development, both from the County of Bergen, and Andrea Sheridan, Assistant
Superintendent and Jason Kim, Board Member. Among those present from the Korean
Ministry of Labor & Employment were the Director and Assistant Director, as
well as and several assistant directors from the Ministry’s Job Center.
After touring the One-Stop and speaking with managers and
clients from the collaborative partner agencies, officials met for an in-depth
question and answer session on clients services, workshops and classroom
curriculum.
